GRAND FIELD GROUP HOLDINGS LIMITED
HKSAR v Wayland Tsang Wai Lun & others.
Cooking with Gas
HK Court of Appeal, 28-Nov-2012 The court writes "in the face of prolonged inactivity following the announcement, a complaint was made to the Stock Exchange by a minority shareholder." Webb-site published the article "Cooking with Gas" on 4-Mar-2004 and filed a complaint with SEHK and SFC the next day. We had questioned the original announcement in a complaint to both regulators on 5-Jun-2002. For the avoidance of doubt, David Webb was never a shareholder in this stock. We don't know whether the complainant referred to was us.

Peace Mark's warning signals
What went wrong at watch shop Peace Mark (0304), former associate of Egana (0048)? Webb-site.com shows you the warning signals which analysts missed. (16-Sep-2008)
Egana and Upbest
Following this week's charges by the ICAC against certain directors of Upbest (0335), Webb-site.com looks at the connections between EganaGoldpfeil (0048) and Upbest, and we don't like what we see. There's a mixture of out-and-back profit-generating transactions, innovative accounting policies, investments in closed-end funds, interest-free "deposits", rolling promissory notes and yes, an aborted gas transaction in the PRC. Are we looking at the next Moulin here? (26-Jul-2007)

Cooking with Gas
We describe how Grand Field (0115) spent HK$63m on a 75% stake in a company which owned nothing other than a right to invest in a piped gas joint venture, which had lost its business license even before the acquisition was completed. One of the men behind this deal also features in our next story, on Kwong Hing (1131), so stay tuned! (4-Mar-2004) |
